Question by Walk T: I’m going to the Phillipines next month and will be staying in Romblon.?
I was just wondering if there are any stuff you guys recommend me packing…like sunscreen, water filters and such? Romblon was recently hit with the typhoon so are the conditions safe there right now? What are the essential items that I should be packing? Also would it be smart to pack a lot of clothes or could most items be bought there for cheaper?

I do not know what store for you in Romblon since has been hit by typhoon recently and the ship that sunk is still there with those dangerous chemicals. So going to the beach is NOT a good idea and also not advisable to eat the marine products like fish and shells. But I’m pretty sure that there are a lot of things you can do instead. And no need for you to pack a lot of clothes because you can buy a good quality line of clothings here.

Conditions there should be quite safe after a typhoon. If routes going there are impassable then you wouldn’t be able to go to Romblon at all. Just pack enough clothes for your length of stay there. And yes, most things that you will need can easily be bought there at a price cheaper than you would find in the US for sure. Of course you should bring personal items and toiletries for your personal use just in case. You should just be careful of what you eat and drink since your stomach might not be used to some of the food and drinks there, especially the water. My in laws sometimes get stomach problems when they go home when they eat something that they’re not used to eating any more. But if you’re a healthy person there’s nothing to be worried about.

During my stay in Romblon, the only problem I really had there was transportation. Make sure you bring a phone with yah.

Clothes? Just bring enough. Mineral water is readily available there so no need to worry about that.

And a friend of mine from Romblon told me that Romblon is doing fine after the typhoon actually.
