/> The most recognized problem with the ingestion of too much fluoride is dental fluorosis. This condition is characterized by the failure of tooth enamel to crystallize properly in permanent teeth. The effects range from chalky, opaque blotching of teeth to severe, rust-colored stains, surface pitting and tooth brittleness.

This condition, though worrisome, may not be the key concern , at least according to some researchers. Dr. Phyllis Mullenix believes, based on her research, that fluoride acts in a way that lowers the I.Q. of children (“Neurotoxicity of Sodium Fluoride in Rats”, Mullenix, P. Neurotoxicology and Teratology, 17 (2), 1995).

Dr. William Marcus, believes that a study conducted by Battelle for the National Toxicology Program on the toxicology of fluoride shows that there were dose-related increases in bone cancer in male rats. Dr. Marcus also questions the removal by peer reviewers of cancers at other sites in the rats as well.

Best answer:

Answer by Richard H
Fluoride in the water isn’t nearly as bad as the bacteria it’s killing.

Give your answer to this question below!

PUR Water Filtration System 18 Cup Dispenser 1 ea

Pur Water Filters

Dispenser

ea

Filtration

System

Water
<guid

The Katadyn Hiker Model Or Base Camp Model?

Reading camping water filter reviews before making a choice on the right camping water filter for your next backpacking trip is a smart idea. With something as important to your health as safe, fresh drinking water, you really don’t want to mess around!

When you are venturing out into the great outdoors with your family, a camping water filter might be the ticket to saving you a lot of pain. Having clean water to cook, drink and wash with is important when you are away from your home. You don’t want to worry about your family getting sick because you used just whatever water source was available to you. That being said you don’t want to haul around gallons of water just so that you have something clean.

There is a wide variety of camping water purifiers for you to choose from. If you are going for just a short excursion you might want to invest in a Katadyn hiker model. These models only hold about a liter or so of water but they are lightweight and extremely portable so you can take it on the go with you. If you are more interested in having a longer stay in the wilderness you might want to think of something along the lines of a Katadyn Base Camp filtration bag for your water. These hold more water than the Katadyn Hiker and Hiker Pro versions, some up to ten gallons of water at one time.

You also want to consider how much effort you want to put into getting your water. If you are looking at the more compact and smaller versions of backpacking water purifiers then you will find that you have to pump and pump in order to get the water filtered. This can be a hassle if you want more than just a liter or two at a time. Many of these types of filters can process1 liter a minute but remember you are going to be doing all of the work.

The larger base camp water purification systems are great in the fact that they take little work from you. Many of these types of filters hold a lot of water and let gravity do all the work filtering. These are good if you plan on staying out in the wilderness for several days or have more than a person or two to provide water for. Less work, more water and all you have to do is fill it up and put it on a higher surface.

Camping water filters take the guess work out of whether you and your family are safe drinking the local lake water. You can get all the clean water you need without the expense and hassle of buying several gallons of water.

If you are looking for <a

They I right. Research studies conducted all over the world show that the water contains harmful chemicals.

Even in the major cities in the States the water can not be drank safely.

I had to reconsider my option of drinking tap water. It is not safe. Then I did a market study and saw the prices on the water. I was scared when I saw the result. A family that buys bottled water to drink spends around 3000 dollars a year just for that. I decided to look for other ways to get safe and clean water.

If it was possible, a less expensive way to do that. After a short period of time I discovered that using a tap water filter helps me eliminate the dangerous bacteria and debris from the water. The filter even eliminates the heavy metals and the parasites. But still, many of the filters were expensive and even hard to use. I had a problem. Some filters are so accurate about cleaning the water that they even remove some good minerals in the tap water.

And that can damage our health. The recent studies have clearly shown that the lack of minerals in the water can cause many and serious diseases.

This is the reason why you need to know what the filter at your home does precisely. If yours removes 95% of the heavy metals in the water, don’t use it. It will eliminate the good minerals also. I wish this article has provided you with some helpful information on how to deal with the problem of having safe water.

Easy Steps

It’s no secret that, bottled water has been proven to contain actual parasites and cysts in it, as well as traces of plastic which are all strongly believed to be harmful to your long term health, and tap water can be a source of bacterial, viral or chemical contamination since the municipal water treatment process doesn’t remove all the contaminants from it. Furthermore, municipally treated water is subject to city pipes which have the potential to infect the water after it leaves the water treatment stage. Common contaminants left behind in tap water include hard shelled parasites such as cryptosporidium and giardia which are protected by a tough outer coat and thus resistant to chlorine. Also, due to their small size, they can often slip through local water purification treatments unharmed and end up in your All water filtration systems are governed by municipal standards. Drinking water regulations are designed to reduce – but not necessarily eliminate all contamination from water. Just because water filtration systems meet government standards does not mean the water is completely free of parasites or other contaminants. The truth is, the government doesn’t set the standards that high. This is due to the fact that we use this water for everything from drinking, to washing our cars, to filling our swimming pools. The cost for a municipality to completely purify all tap water would be prohibitively high and very impractical. Furthermore, bottled water (which also follows government standards) has been known to contain harmful chemicals such as chlorine and other inorganic compounds linked to cancer and birth defects. Even those department store water filter jugs that claim to remove 99.9% of contaminants are just following government standards and regulations which many feel are set too low. Their filter holes are not small enough to keep cysts and some parasites completely out. Remember, 99.9% effectiveness still let’s 0.01% of parasites, cysts and who knows what else into your stomach and these contaminants can build up and even multiply in your body over time. Wouldn’t you like to be able to filter your water with a system that does much more than just follow government standards? With the Homemade Filter system, you by-pass all the unnecessary expenses by buying the main necessary components separately and building the filter yourself out of inexpensive parts you can find in home improvement centers or department stores. In other words, you replicate what happens in expensive water filter systems but without all the fancy packaging and enormous mark-ups. The RESULT is the same extremely clean drinking water provided by expensive water filtration systems at only a fraction of the cost. You can use this simple but effective guide to make your own water filter for less than . All the parts needed can be found inexpensively in local stores or online. Considering that you will be building a water filter unit that filters water just as well as expensive commercial systems, and lasts for many, many years, this isn’t very much at all. This homemade water filter design is very easy to build. Basically, anyone who can use a simple power tool can do it in about a half hour or so. So don’t worry about assembly, it is simply not an issue. In fact, this process consists of only 3 simple steps. Yes, this is how easy it really is! Once built, the homemade water filter will filter up to and over 6000 gallons of water before anything needs replacing. So if your family drinks 20 gallons of water per week (which is way more than average), it would provide you with over 6 years of clean drinking water. If you drink 10 gallons of water per week, you can get over 12 years of filtered water — Wow! How much have you payed for bottled water in the last 6-12 years? If you’re anything like me and can’t stand (plus don’t trust) tap water filtered with cheap department store jugs, it’s probably in the thousands for sure. This means that with the homemade filter you will not only be able to finally break your dependency on buying bottled water forever, but you will continue saving money for many, many years to come.

Build Your Own Water Filter In 3 should I boil the water as well or just with the filter it will be safe to drink?

thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Johnnyneon
Most water filters remove chlorine. Chlorine is big as far as filtering goes. Look at the filter and see if it removes down to one micron, that is the sign of a good filter.
A red blood cell is seven micron, as a point of reference, and most bad things are removed at one micron. If you are concerned about crazier things like rocket fuel or petroleum or crypto sporidium, change to reverse osmosis filtration.

What do you think?
